The verdict
The Boon Tap is an under-sink RO+UV purifier with an 8 L tank, a stainless-steel tap, three mineral modes and a 2-year comprehensive warranty for ₹23,500. In Digit’s test it cut 497 ppm water to 25 ppm at 50% recovery, and its app is the most complete of the three we compared.
Best for
- Households with borewell, tanker or high-TDS water who want the unit hidden under the sink
- Buyers who want an app that tracks TDS, flow and filter health, and a two-year warranty with scheduled visits
Skip it if
- You have no cabinet space or no plumber access
- You want hot water or a published UV specification
What we like
- In Digit’s test on 497 ppm water: output about 25 ppm (95% reduction) and 50% recovery, versus roughly 25 to 33% for typical home RO units
- RO membrane rated for input up to 2,000 TDS, 20 L/hour rated (Digit measured 26.4 L/hour), 8 L storage tank
- Three mineral profiles: Active, Daily (default) and Bev; solid SS 304 tap with 35 cm clearance and 360° swivel
- Most complete app of the three: live input and output TDS, temperature, usage and flow, predictive filter alerts, self-diagnostics, Care Routines and automatic shutdown if the water is too hot
- 2-year comprehensive warranty with up to four scheduled visits, a free filter change and free installation; no AMC required
What we don’t
- Needs cabinet space and a plumber visit; three mounting options are offered
- The UV stage (a mirrored chamber, UV ProGlow) has no published wavelength, power or dose, so we do not count it as proven disinfection
- Filter life is up to two years, with most homes changing at 12 to 18 months; a full set is ₹4,000 after the warranty and single filters are not priced
- We found no app-store rating, and the product page rating (4.65 from 46 reviews) is Boon’s own

How we tested
We compare under-sink purifiers on the same checklist: purification and input-water limits, mineral control, the UV stage, what the sensors measure, how good the app is, the tap and installation, warranty and service, and price. Specs here come from Boon’s page and Digit’s published test; our measurements are being added.
Purification and minerals
An 8-stage RO line rated for input up to 2,000 TDS, with an 8 L pressure tank. Digit’s test on 497 ppm water gave about 25 ppm out, 50% recovery and 26.4 L/hour, well above Boon’s rated 20 L/hour. The three mineral profiles let you choose how much mineral cartridge water is blended back: all of it (Active), half (Daily) or none (Bev).
The UV stage
Boon describes a mirrored UV chamber (UV ProGlow) but does not publish its wavelength, power or dose. UV only disinfects at a sufficient dose, so, like every purifier we review, we list this as unpublished and rely on the RO stage for our score. We are testing the UV output ourselves.
Tap, installation and space
A solid SS 304 tap with 35 cm clearance and a weighted base, installed free by Boon in under two hours. You need cabinet space and a nearby socket; the unit can also be wall-mounted with the tank below or on top.
What the app and sensors tell you
This is the most complete app of the three we compared. It shows input and output TDS, temperature, usage and flow, predicts filter changes from usage, runs self-diagnostics, offers Care Routines (Auto, BabySafe, Away), switches mineral profiles and shuts the system down if the water is too hot. It works offline for basic use. TDS is a conductivity reading: it shows what the RO removes, not whether the water is free of bacteria, pesticides or heavy metals. We found no store rating, so we are checking its readings against a handheld meter.
Warranty and service
Two years comprehensive with scheduled visits, a free filter change and free installation, and no AMC afterwards. A full filter set is ₹4,000. The coverage is built around keeping the system maintained, which is what keeps an RO unit performing.
Should you buy it?
If you want a hidden unit with a proper tap, an app that tells you something, and a two-year warranty that includes maintenance, the Boon Tap is the best of the three under-sink purifiers we compared.

Questions buyers ask
What does the Boon Tap app measure?
Live input and output TDS, temperature, usage and flow, plus filter health. TDS is a conductivity reading, so it shows how much the RO removes but cannot detect bacteria, pesticides or heavy metals. Filter-change timing is predicted from usage, not measured directly.
Does the Boon Tap work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Wi-Fi is needed only for the app, smart alerts and over-the-air updates; the display and tap work offline.
What did Digit measure on the Boon Tap?
On 497 ppm input water, Digit measured about 25 ppm output (95% reduction), 50% recovery and 26.4 L/hour. That is one test, not a lab certification.
What does the Boon Tap warranty cover?
Two years comprehensive, including up to four scheduled maintenance visits, a free filter change, a free pre-filter and free repairs. Afterwards a full filter set is ₹4,000, and no AMC is required.
Does the Boon Tap use proper UV purification?
It has a mirrored UV chamber (UV ProGlow), but Boon does not publish the UV wavelength, power or dose. Like every purifier we review, we treat that as unpublished rather than proof of disinfection.
